Walnut Sage Pesto

Try this addictive spread with either our za'atar or sea salt chips. Or both!

Walnut Sage Pesto

Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • A large hunk of Parmesan
  • 1 small clove garlic
  • 36 fresh sage leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Small pinch crushed red pepper
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil

Make it

Heat the oven to 350°F.

Spread the walnuts onto a small sheet pan and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until fragrant and crisp. Let cool.

Using the tip of a paring knife, break off small pieces from the hunk Parmesan and measure ½ cup.

In a food processor, chop the garlic. Add the walnuts, Parmesan pieces, sage, salt, a few turns of black pepper, and the red pepper. Pulse several times until everything is finely and evenly chopped. Add the oil and pulse a couple of times to incorporate. The pesto should come together into a thick spread.

Serve with our Za’atar and/or Sea Salt pita chips.
