Muhammara

This Middle Eastern roasted red pepper dip could be the best combo yet with our za'atar pita chips.

Ingredients

  • 4 red bell peppers, charred, peeled, seeded
  • 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon Aleppo pepper
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 cup walnuts, toasted
  • 1/4 cup plain pita chips
  • 3 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
  • 6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from about 2 lemons)

Make it

In a food processor, combine the bell peppers, olive oil, garlic, cumin, Aleppo pepper, and salt. Blend for 1 minute, or until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary.

Add the walnuts and pita chips and blend for 2 minutes.

Add the pomegranate molasses and lemon juice and pulse to combine.
